Three years ago, I was honored when you elected me selectman - when I was growing up on Amory Street, I never imagined that one day I would be a member of the Brookline Board of Selectman. Earlier this year, I announced my candidacy for reelection and by my desire to remain one of your elected representatives.
Since joining the Board of Selectmen, I have been an effective voice for you. I have supported investment in the public schools, parks, and technology necessary to maintain Brookline’s quality services to all residents. During much of 2016, I chaired the River Road Study Committee, which successfully proposed new land use rules that will bring to life a long neglected gateway into Brookline. The revitalization will improve the streetscape and the Emerald Necklace, and will significantly increase tax revenue, with limited incremental cost for Town services.
During the last three years I have also participated in the 2014 Override Study Committee, helped to write and pass the 2015 Override and Debt Exclusion ballot questions, chaired a committee that proposed significant revisions and improvements to Brookline’s noise and leaf blower bylaws, and responded to numerous requests for constituent services and help with neighborhood issues.
The past three years have been challenging and rewarding, and I am excited to continue working for you. I ask for your support and vote on May 2nd.
